How to use Board list rules to adjust the data in the Board list
During optimisation the program automatically generates a list of boards to consider for cutting; these are based on the material code set for each part and a set of candidate board sizes (including offcuts) are extracted from the Board library as options for cutting.
The 'Board list rules' option is used to make additional changes to the board data. This can be useful for customising the information available for each board used (e.g. altering the Bin number or Supplier based on the material code) or for changing the parameter settings (using a different parameter file) based on, for example, the overall board size.
To access the Board list rules library, at the main screen:-
- Select: Libraries - Board list rules
The current list of board list rules is shown.
The highlighted line represents the following rule.
If 'Board length' is greater than 3660mm enter the text 'LargeSize' in the 'Parameters' field.
This allows the larger board sizes to use the 'LargeSize' parameter list for optimising; this, for example, provides alternative settings for trims, speeds etc..
In this example the board list field to adjust or customise is the 'Parameters' field. The expression (text or a number) placed in the field is the name of a parameter list, for example, 'LargeSize'.
The field is adjusted for every board list entry where the 'Board length' field is greater than 3660 mm. This rule is set in the 'Condition' column. The 'Apply' field sets whether the field is applied before or after any other calculations; the usual way is to apply board list rules after any other adjustments or changes ('At end').
In this example many different board sizes (including offcuts) are candidates for use in optimising - the board list rule for the 'Parameters' field was only applied to boards where the length was greater than 3660mm.
